Nodding Thistle

Carduus nutans

An erect annual or biennial herb, up to 1.6 metres high, but usually 80 -120 cm with flowerheads displaying a typical nodding or drooping characteristic, usually germinating from late summer to early winter the plants are not eaten by stock, except perhaps goats, and can rapidly occupy large areas of pasture.
