Janawirri
Janawirri is a member of the Wongatha people, Eastern Goldfields area of Western Australia. Janawirri started playing didj at a young age, even though it was not a traditional instrument from his area. His enthusiastic enjoyment for this instrument was inspired by watching traditional players from the northern parts of Australia at corroborees. His rappour with the instrument is such that he can cross many genres of music. He was one of the first didjeridu players performing at well-known music festivals, such as the "North Sea Jazz" Festival, Holland; "Crossing Borders" Festival in Nuess(Germany) and Den Haag(Holland). Janawirri has raised the awareness of the instrument tand has taken it to an international audience.
Janawirri Yiparrka is internationally acclaimed artist, having exhibited in Vienna, Amsterdam, Prague, New York, and Texas.
